BENOXINATE HYDROCHLORIDE:
Indications: Used in applanation tonometry and for the fitting of contact lenses.
Contraindications: Caution should be observed when benoxinate hydrochloride is used in patients with allergies, cardiac disease, hyperthyroidism, or open lesions.
Dose and Administration: Adults and children: To be used as directed by the ophthalmologist. 1-3 drops of 0,4% solution, depending on the degree of anaesthesia required. Onset of action is 6-20 seconds and duration of effect is 15 minutes.
BENOXINATE HYDROCHLORIDE-FLUORESCEIN SODIUM:
Indications: for procedures requiring a disclosing agent in combination with a topical ophthalmic anesthetic agent such as tonometry, gonioscopy, removal of corneal foreigen bodies and other short corneal and conjunctival procedures.
Contraindications: Caution should be observed when benoxinate hydrochloride is used in patients with allergies, cardiac disease, hyperthyroidism, or open lesions.
Dose and Administration: 1-2 drops in single instillations in each eye before operating.
